THÌ HIỆN TẠI TIẾP DIỄN - PRESENT CONTINUOUS

1.Công thức

Khẳng định: S + be (am/ is/ are) + V_ing + O
Phủ định: S + BE + NOT + V_ing + O
Nghi vấn: BE + S + V_ing + O

2.Từ nhận biết: Now, right now, at present, at the moment

3.Cách dùng thì hiện tại tiếp diễn

Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn tả một hành động đang diễn ra và kéo dài dài một thời gian ở hiện tại.

Ex: The children are playing football now.

Thì này cũng thường tiếp theo sau câu đề nghị, mệnh lệnh.

Ex: Look! the child is crying.
      Be quiet! The baby is sleeping in the next room.

Thì này còn diễn tả 1 hành động xảy ra lặp đi lặp lại dùng với phó từ ALWAYS  khi phàn nàn, hoặc biểu lộ sự bực mình hay tức giận. những từ cùng nghĩa như forever, constantly cũng được dùng trong những trường hợp này

Ex: He is always borrowing our books and then he doesn't remember -

Ex: Mary is always leaving  her dirty socks on the floor for me to pick up.

Thì này còn được dùng để diễn tả một hành động sắp xảy ra (ở tương lai gần)

Ex: He is coming tomrow

Phân biệt dùng Hiện tại đơn và Hiện tại tiếp diễn cho sự việc ở tương lai: ( bài tiếp theo)

 

4.Lưu ý: Không dùng thì này với các động từ chỉ nhận thức chi giác như: to be, see, hear,glance, feel, think, smell,

5.  Quy tắc thêm ING vào sau động từ:

– Thêm ING vào sau các động từ bình thường: do – doing.

– Những động từ tận cùng bằng 1 chữ E câm thì bỏ E rồi thêm ING: write – writing; trường hợp đặc biệt: singe – singeing, dye – dyeing.

– Những động từ có 1 âm tiết, tận cùng bằng 1 phụ âm (trừ H, W, X, Y) và trước đó là 1 nguyên âm thì nhân đôi phụ âm cuối rồi mới thêm ING: run – running, nhưng fix – fixing.

– Những động từ có 2 âm tiết, trọng âm nằm ở âm cuối, tận cùng là 1 phụ âm (trừ H, W, X, Y) và trước đó là 1 nguyên âm thì nhân đôi phụ âm cuối rồi mới thêm ING: begin – beginning.

– Những động từ tận cùng bằng IE thì đổi IE thành Y rồi thêm ING: die – dying.

– Các động từ tận cùng bằng C và trước C là 1 nguyên âm thì phải thêm K rồi mới thêm ING.

– Các động từ tận cùng bằng L, trước L là1 nguyên âm thì có thể gấp đôi chữ L (theo cách của Anh) hoặc không (theo cách của Mỹ).
